First Sail

All I can say is Brrr. It was a cold and eventful trip. The wind was coming directly from the SW right up our course according the the GPS. We motored out of Muskegon and set sails tacking back and forth. About 3:00 we decided we'd had enough pounding and pulled down the sails to motor south. We didn't get to far before the engine puked out on us. We reset the sails and made for Grand Haven. Sailed it into the port and got a little tug to North Port Marine. Great place. In about and hour we had the engine up and running. Figure it was a plugged fuel filter or sticky carborator. We left the boat at North Port for the night. All in all if was still a fun trip and the boat sailed excellently. GPS says we covered 32 miles .... ha ha port to port it is actually 8 miles. That was a lot of tacks to get no where..
